Wednesday Worlds is a groupride in Blacksburg, VA. It takes place weekly from March to September. We leave from Bollo's coffee shop each week on Wednesday night. We alternate between various different rides throughout the year. They both take a little under two hours to complete.
If you're interested in coming on the ride, you should have some experience riding in a group with others. You should also take a look at the guidelines. We usually split into two groups (A and B) for the fast part of the ride, and if you're unsure, you should start off in the B group.
The ride is great way to build speed and fitness on the bike. It is also a good way to get more comfortable riding with a larger group of riders. On top of all that it's a lot of fun.
Out Tabor Rd, back on Blackburg Rd
From Bollo's, we head out N. Main St to Mt Tabor Rd. We re-group at Slusser's Chapel, where the B group is given a head start (~2-3 mins).
We ride out Mt Tabor Rd and make a right turn onto Sandy Ridge Rd.
The only sprint is at Dry Run Rd. Finally, we finish at the top of Harding.
Out and back on Blackburg Rd
From Bollo's, we head down Ellet/Cedar Run and across Luster's Gate Rd. We re-group at the intersection of Blacksburg Rd, where the B group is given a head start (~ 1 min).
The first sprint is at Sandy Ridge. We re-group again there and head back in on Blacksburg Rd.
The next sprint is at Dry Run Rd. Finally, we finish at the top of Harding.
